I am now offering Carbon Art Prints of the Fonville Images shown on the Fonville Flickr site. I, personally am of the opinion that Digital Prints have now exceeded Photographic Prints (Silver Gelatin) in Quality and Longivity. These images were scanned at a high resolution and then will be digitally corrected and enhanced to remove the effect of age from the original negatives. I worked very close with my Father during his last 20 years and printed the majority of his prints for him.

Hahnemuhle Photorag 308 (Our Default)
We recommend Hahnemuhle Photorag 308 for most photographic images. This paper is 100 percent cotton rag, has a bright white base and an exceptionally smooth surface for sharp, colorful, long lasting prints. This paper works exceptionally well with out Piezography carbon based black and white process.
Hahnemuhle German Etching 310
Hahnemuhle German Etching has a slightly warmer color than Photorag and just a little more surface texture. We like this paper for reproducing art. Sketches and paintings as well as antique photographs work well with German Etching. This paper works exceptionally well with out Piezography carbon based black and white process.

For a long time, we did not offer printing on canvas because we weren’t satisfied with the image reproduction quality of the materials available. That has changed! The current canvas material reproduces a wide range of images beautifully. Its not the cheapest material available but it is the best. Samples may be seen at Lakeside Camera Photoworks in New Orleans.

This is our economy line of Prints. With these prints, the image is not compromised and is the same as our Fine Art Prints. The primary difference is the papers used and attention to archival details. The sizes 5x7, 8x10, and 11x14 are photographic prints (Silver Gelatin) and size 16x20 is a Carbon Art Print. These Prints are sold without matts.
